Hello,
I've already posted the issue on Facebook but it's better to do it here sharing logs and settings. I updated both APT and PHD2 since a very long time of inactivity. I used a star adventurer, a Canon 1100D and a guide scope, the same setup I had been using for years successfully. The behavior I experienced is that APT does not wait for dithering to be over and shots the next frame. The outcome is a trailed picture (unless the dithering finishes before the 30" of pause between frames). I'm pretty sure I did't change the settings but there you go them and the logs attached.

Thanks in advance for the support!

Clear skies,
Giovanni.

Hi Giovanni,

From what I see the Settle time is too low - only 1s. You can try to increase it to 4-5s. Depending on the guide you are using you can lower the Settle Distance to 0.50-0.60.

The log file doesn't show problem... One more idea - try to uncheck in PHD2 the option Guiding->Fast recenter after calibration or dither.
Clear skies,
Ivo

Hi Ivo,
I've just made some indoor test via simulator(s) and I found that the option Guiding Program: PHD1 guiding is the correct one that synchronizes APT and PHD even if I'm using the last version of OpenPhd2. I'm happy to have the right behavior back but still curios to know why phd2 option does not work.

Clear skies,
Giovanni.

Hi Giovanni,

Try to use PHD2 option, but make sure that the PHD port is 4400. The PHD1 protocol is limited, it is better to make the other option work.

Ivo
