Re: Dithering synchronization problem

Hi Ivo, I've just made some indoor test via simulator(s) and I found that the option Guiding Program: PHD1 guiding is the correct one that synchronizes APT and PHD even if I'm using the last version of OpenPhd2. I'm happy to have the right behavior back but still curios to know why phd2 option does ...

Dithering synchronization problem

Hello, I've already posted the issue on Facebook but it's better to do it here sharing logs and settings. I updated both APT and PHD2 since a very long time of inactivity. I used a star adventurer, a Canon 1100D and a guide scope, the same setup I had been using for years successfully. The behavior ...

Re: Live view takes too long with Moravian camera

Hello, I have a ASI 1600MM usb3 and I also had some problem. I think it is due to USB3 cable/hub or speed. I'm going to try connecting it to the USB3 port directly and not via hub. In case the problem persistes, I'll switch to usb2 port. In any case I suggest using a proper ROI anyway. Clear skies, ...

It should come in 4.00, but there is small chance to try including it in 3.90.
Hi Ivo, when is 3.90 expected to be released?

Re: Live view takes too long with Moravian camera

Hello,
I used Moravian and APT for years and the problem is the circa 12 seconds in download time. For live-view I used to use ROI in order to get a better refresh time. AFAIK proprietary drivers don't give any improvement .

Re: Auto focus

Hi Ruediger, I'm thinking on general algorithm that can be used to for auto-focusing but also for monitoring the focus and also maybe in future for auto-correction between the plan steps ;) Hi Ivo, do you mean to run an autofocus if the previous frame has a HFD over a threshold in comparison with t...

Re: Auto focus

Hi Ivo, I am trying to follow your point, but it is not so clear to me. Maybe you can help me please? 1. You do not dither during a focus run. So why it should impact? 2. Guiding brings down HFD, so it is not negative. Vise versa. For my point of few, the algorithm should work like this: 1. Select ...

Idea for a new feature

Hi Ivo,
what do you think about a feature that checks last image HFD and, in case, runs an autofocus before taking the next one? It would be a very very nice to have in the next autofocus re-engineering ;)

It did happen to me in the past while I was using Bahtinov help. Nothing had been written in the log file every time.

Re: Reminder before plan starting

Hi Giovanni, Message on plan start can break some automations and there is need to check the logic more deeply, so we can't address it for the next official version. As workaround till we reach that point in the ToDo list you can create a check list to take a look before starting the plan. Kind of ...

Re: Reminder before plan starting

Hi Giovanni, Looks similar to the "Check Lists" feature :) I know Ivo but just figure out you start the night with a plan, let's say RGB, when you want to dither every 3 images (a full set of filters) so you set dither #image to 3. After the plan finishes (and a couple of hours after you ...

Reminder before plan starting

Hello Ivo, what do you think about a reminder popup to be shown when you push "Start" button or schedule a plan? The text should be customizable and in my case would be "Did you set the dithering #image properly? Have you removed the Polemaster? Is your cat nearby the tripod? :D "...

Re: Session Autofocus

Hi Peter, I hope to start testing in the second half of December or first half of January. Before that we have to try an interesting idea for finding the focus point given by the Pegasus Astro team and also to implement multi-star focus metrics. Having these and the architecture for the Meridian Fl...
