In APT 3.10 is added a new feature named Guide Control (Gear->Guide or F7). When enabled the PHD guiding is stopped on GoTo, GoTo++ and #GoTo command and have to resume after move is completed.

I have made few changes since the last beta. So every help to test this feature is welcome. The test scenario is simple.

1. Start PHD guiding
2. In Gear tab clear RA/Dec coordinated
3. Click GoTo
4. Check if PHD will continue to guide.
5. Share feedback here :)

Thank you in advance!

UPDATE: APT 3.12 has additional option in Guiding Settings - Guiding Resume Delay that gives time tracking to settle down before resuming the guiding after GoTo.
Clear skies,
Ivo

Hi Ivo,
I tried this function in the last beta, I have a gpd2 mount with skysensor when I goto an object the scope slew to and then start tracking, but it continues to center the object, in some case it takes more than 10sec, if the guiding start in this moment is a problem.
I suggest to insert an adjustable delay (eg.0 to 60 sec)

Thanks for your great work ;-) ,
Davide

Hi Davide,

Many thanks for your feedback!

In the official version I have made few changes. There is delay between automatic star selection and the guiding start. This should give better behavior.

As for the delay I'll add such, but when you have chance please take a look in the Gear tab. The driver should still report "slewing" during these 10s. If the N/S/E/W are disabled then everything is perfect :)
Clear skies,
Ivo
